Georgia
I am in Thomasville, Georgia today. I woke up yesterday morning at 4:30 a.m., flew to Winnipeg, Montreal, Atlanta and Tallahassee. I arrived in Tallahassee at 9:30 p.m. It was a very long day of travelling and despite the fact that I just sat on a plane I was exhausted.
I had rented a car but my hosts insisted that someone meet me at the airport and guide me to my hotel in Thomasville. I protested but they insisted. They were right. Its not that the directions are that hard but it is awfully dark here. I mean pitch black - I think it was the trees that lined the highway. On the prairies, because of the lack of trees, the moon and stars seem to give enough illumination so that the landscape is visible - not so here. And it was very windy and cloudy - all adding up to very, very dark.
It was past 11 by the time we found the Melhanna Plantation. I am in the Mandalay Building.
I have never slept in a bed that required a ladder!!!!
